teaching innovation and strategies training

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Recent results from the Trends in the International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) have shown inadequate learning of Filipino students specifically in the sciences, mathematics and language. Moreover, the rapid adaption of Industry 4.0 poses tidal shifts in the educational landscape in-order to adapt to its ever-evolving opportunities and challenges. The institutionalization of ten (10) innovation laboratories by the Department of Education - Iligan City Division is a sound strategy and a valuable investment in attacking the two challenges posted above. This program seeks to help DepEd Iligan to make the innovation laboratories functional and efficient by training teachers and stakeholders in using properly their facilities. Lastly, the program will create a “hub” where the products/protocols/learnings of the different laboratories can be shared leading to a faster rate of innovation absorbance and creation.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

To support the Department of Education - Iligan City Division in harnessing the full potential of their recently instituted 10 Innovation Laboratories.

Specific Objectives

(1)  Train teachers and other stakeholders on the usage and maintenance of 3D printers.

(2)  Conduct of subject-specific training on generation of new educational tools using 3D printers to aide instruction and research activities.

(3)  Creation of communities of practice “hub” where the developed learning materials will be shared.
